School Counseling Tribe was born out of a passion for children and is dedicated to school counselors everywhere, providing an all-in-one platform for educational training and inspiration for professional development. Why “School Counseling Tribe”? Because this platform is my way of building a community of school counselors who see the impact possible through their work and need the tips, advice, and motivation to break barriers and help the young people they serve become their best selves.
So, who’s the face behind the name? I am Elishia Basner, currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Counselor Education and Supervision. Throughout my career as a school counselor, spanning over ten years, I have had the privilege of working with students across various grade levels, gaining valuable insights into their unique challenges. My professional background encompasses diverse roles in for-profit and non-profit organizations, academic institutions, community mental health, and residential settings.
As the School Counseling Tribe has expanded, I now enjoy connecting with other educators in person, not just through my inbox. Speaking directly with schools, I can equip your faculty with crisis-defusing skills, teach you how to implement school-wide strategies for an optimal learning environment, or directly teach students essential coping strategies for self-regulation.
